Ambassadors

Our ambassadors are living examples of those who are true to their craft, true to their passion and live their poison everyday. These everyday, true to Durban people are normal guys, just like you and me. The only thing that sets them apart is their continual commitment to stay inspired.
Meet the people who speak our brand and live our spirit.
Grant ‘Twiggy’ Baker

Occupation: Local legend, world champion big wave surfer
Favourite brew: The Other Bird
Legendary South African big wave surfer, two-time winner of the Mavericks Invitational Big Wave surfing event and two-time Big Wave world champion, Grant ‘Twiggy’ Baker lives his poison out on the monster waves.
In facing nature at its most severe, Twiggy feels most alive – it gives him the freedom to be himself and find his place in the universe.
With his fearless attitude and absolute dedication to his craft, it’s no wonder that he’s Poison City Brewing’s longstanding official brand ambassador.
“I have been friends with Graeme for many years and when I heard about Poison City Brewing and their whole ethos I wanted to be involved immediately and help wherever possible to spread the word about their product and Durban in general.”

Sihle Xaba
Occupation: Actor, lifesaver, hero
Favourite brew: Durban Poison Cannabis Lager
You might know him from ‘Bay of Plenty’, ‘Uzalo’ and the award-winning ‘Otelo Burning’, but where Sihle Xaba really shines is on the beaches of Durban – saving lives and keeping people safe.
For the past 21 years he has lived his poison on the Durban beaches – to the extent of starring in a 10-episode documentary called ‘Durban Beach Rescue’, which showcased the challenges our lifeguards face on a daily basis.
In April 2019 Sihle dedicated his time to rescuing people who were in danger of the floods in Durban, which is just another reason why we love this guy.
I n Dee

Occupation: Hip hop artists, producers, Durban superstars
Favourite brew: Durban Poison Cannabis Lager
This futurist hip-hop duo burst into the 031 hip-hop scene in 2009 and since then have performed at events in KZN, burned up the airwaves on Ukhozi FM, Gagasi FM, DYR FM and Radio DUT, opened for the likes of Tipcee, Okmalumkoolkat, Zakwe, DJ Bongz, DJ Sox and Professor, and collaborated with artists from Miami, California and London.
They live their poison in the studio writing cool music, creating dope beats and throwing the freshest bars – and then use their music to create positivity in their community and hometown. They love Durban and its favourite beer, and we love them.
“It’s a brand from the city we love, the city we were born in, and when we travel the world you can bet Durban Poison Cannabis Lager is gonna be with us!”
